PRSSA’s Best and Brightest: February Internship Review

Do you still need a summer internship? Are you looking for an adventure? We are nearing the end of February and the summer internship hunt is in full force. If you are looking to leave your parents’ couch this summer, I have just the thing(s) for you.

Welcome to the first PRSSA’s Best and Brightest: Internship Review! Each month, I will highlight some of the best opportunities currently listed on the MyPRSA Internship Center in an effort to make your search even easier. These are just a few of my favorites:

Duolingo PR and Social Media Intern

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Duolingois the most popular language learning app in the world and they are looking for a full-time intern for 12 weeks this summer in the headquarters. And, it’s paid! They are accepting post-grads as well as those graduating in spring 2020 or earlier.

As an intern, you will generate story ideas that drive press coverage, create social media content, research and identify relevant influencer targets and track and measure press coverage and social media. Part of the position will be thoughtfully growing Duolingo’s global awareness and user base. This opportunity stemmed from the Penn State Regional Conference and I highly encourage you to look into it. Duolingo is a really cool company! Application closes in April.

Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Internship Program

Atlanta, Georgia

Are you interested in sports PR? Do you love Chick-fil-A? Then this is the perfect internship for you. Peach Bowl, Inc. is seeking candidates for six internship positions for the 2019 – 2020 college football season. You must be available to work 40 hours/week in the Peach Bowl office in Atlanta, GA from June 2019 to February 2020. Guess what, it’s paid!

As an intern, you will help plan and execute the Chick-fil-A kickoff game featuring the University of Alabama vs. Duke University. In addition, you will play a vital role in planning and executing the College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. There are four types of positions open and the application closes March 1 – so get a move on!

WOW MKTG The SHIP Internship Program

Miami, Florida

This is one of our most unique internships currently available. The SHIP is a paid, full-time internship program where students are tasked with creating a full campaign for an existing national brand in six weeks. At the end, a panel of experts will judge the campaigns and one intern will leave with a $5,000 scholarship.

The SHIP is open to juniors, seniors and post-grads in marketing, advertising, communications and media fields. You must be available from June 10 – July 19, 2019. The deadline to apply is March 8.
