Tiffany Ellington – Vice President of Chapter Development

What is your role? Give us a brief description of what you do in your role.

I’m the PRSSA National vice president of Chapter development. My primary responsibility is to organize the Phone/Email Outreach Tree (PEOT) which includes managing a team of 14 District Ambassadors. In addition, I am responsible for the Chapter Development Sessions in the fall, the Leadership Summits at District Conferences and the national Community Service Initiative. Ultimately my goal is to help Chapter presidents wherever they need it.

What does a typical day look like for you as a PRSSA National Committee member?

Keeping up on the PEOT is the biggest thing I do. I keep trackers and communicate with all the District Ambassadors to make sure each month’s content is getting to Chapter presidents.

What has been your favorite project/initiative to work on so far?

PEOT will always have a special place, but my favorite has been the Community Service Initiative. I worked with Katy Belanger our VP of digital engagement to promote the #BooksforPRSSA campaign that resulted in 650 books being donated to Kids Need to Read from the Glassman family on behalf of PRSSA.

What has been the most challenging aspect of your role so far?

Managing a team of 14 people plus the other 9 members of National Committee as we all work toward reaching out to the 300+ PRSSA Chapters definitely has it’s challenges, but it’s been going very well, and I’m super thankful for all the learning opportunities it has provided.

What advice would you share with your future successor?

Keeping trackers has been a life saver! The other piece of advice I’d give is to make sure you are carefully watching timelines to know when to start every project without being rushed at the end.

Anything else you would like to share?

Chapter Development is big role but working directly with presidents and seeing the impact local Chapters of PRSSA has on students is so rewarding!
