Fall into Boston at the PRSSA 2017 National Conference
In addition to growing professionally, the PRSSA 2017 National Conference is the perfect opportunity to explore a new city. This October, the National Conference will be hosted in Boston, Massachusetts. Boston has a number of activities to enjoy year round but fall is arguably one of the best times of year to enjoy the city. If you’re wondering why you should make the journey to Boston this October, below is a list of eight reasons why fall in Boston is the best.
1. The Colorful Leaves
New England is known for its multicolored foliage in the fall. Boston has a number of parks and greenways where visitors can observe the beauty of the changing leaves. Orange, red and yellow brighten up the trees and makes city walks much more enjoyable.
2. Fresh Apples and Apple Products
New England is also known for its apples in the fall. October will be a great time to purchase locally sourced apples and apple products such as apple cider, apple pie and apple crisp.
3. Farmers Markets
Autumn is a great time of year to buy farm fresh vegetables and Boston is known to have a number of farmers markets selling all sorts of goods in the fall. The most notable outdoor market is Haymarket, which is near the Boston Public Market, a permanent, indoor arrangement of vendors.
4. Fall Weather
Boston is nestled on the coast of Massachusetts, so it can experience any range of weather (and it does). However, the fall is one of the most pleasant times to be outdoors in the city, so you’ll usually see people out biking, running or walking and enjoying the weather.
5. Ghost Tours
As the city enters the month of October, everyone gets into a spooky mood. In the spirit of Halloween, many people explore historic Boston with a guide to tell them all the tales of the city’s ghostly past.
6. Duck Tours
Duck Tours are a great way to view Boston from land and sea. You can view the foliage and learn more about Boston’s landmarks. You can catch a Duck Tour from a number of locations in the city.
7. Red Sox Games
Come October, Fenway is still alive and hopping with Red Sox buzz. Whether you go for a game or simply stop by for a sausage, fall in Fenway is a fun experience for Bostonians and visitors alike.
8. Fall Brewery Tours
If you’re over 21, autumn in Boston is exciting because the local breweries come out with their fall flavors and offer tours for visitors. Breweries, such as Harpoon and Samuel Adams, have signature fall flavors that people can enjoy in the brewery or at local restaurants.
