Five Reasons Your Chapter Should Participate in the FUNdraising Bowl

The National FUNdraising Bowl season is upon us. PRSSA calls on all Chapters to submit their fundraising ideas. From Feb. 1 through May 31, Chapters can submit fundraisers to the contest by filling out the one-page FUNdraising Bowl application. Each Chapter is allowed one submission per month and must be submitted by midnight on the last day of each month.

Why should your Chapter get involved? Here are five reasons.

  1. Free National Conference registration
The grand prize of the FUNdraising Bowl contest is two free registrations to the PRSSA 2013 National Conference in Philadelphia. That’s a value of $600! The grand prize winning Chapter will be chosen at random from the Chapters that are declared monthly winners.
  2. Monthly recognition
Aside from the opportunity to win the grand prize, monthly recognition is also awarded. The winners are chosen at random from all who applied for the specific month. Any fundraiser, no matter how big or how small, has the opportunity to be recognized nationally.
  3. Participation is one of the PRSSA National Initiatives
National initiatives are targeted projects for Chapters and members to participate in to maximize the opportunities that PRSSA membership offers. Participation in these events can become shining stars on the resumes of Chapters, especially when you go to apply for PRSSA’s Chapter awards. And speaking of stars, participating in a National Initiative brings you one step closer to becoming eligible for the Star Chapter Award.
  4. Inclusion in the FUNdraising Bowl Playbook
Participation also means that your fundraising idea will go into the FUNdraising Bowl Playbook, an online tool that lists all of the submitted fundraisers. Other Chapters will be able to use your success stories to aid in their own fundraising efforts.
  5. It’s just one page!
The FUNdraising Bowl application is very short. Your Chapter is just a one-page application away from the chance of winning two registrations to Conference, improving your Chapter resume and qualifications for awards, bragging rights and helping out others. The deal couldn’t get much sweeter.

Those with questions should check out the FUNdraising Bowl Guidelines or email Vice President of Chapter Development Brian Price. And remember, you can submit one fundraiser each month! The first deadline is Thursday, Feb. 28.
