Zane Landin — Vice President of Career Services

What is your role? Give us a brief description of what you do in your role.

I am the vice president of career services. I am in charge of overseeing the National Internship Center, I support members in their career endeavors by discussing resume tips, conducting mock interviews, and reviewing cover letters. I also look for opportunities for members to be successful. The greatest part about my position is the opportunity to explore different projects.

What does a typical day look like for you as a PRSSA National Committee member?

Aside from always looking for career-based opportunities for our members, things always look different on a daily basis. One day I will be meeting with students, the next I will be speaking at a panel at a PRSSA Chapter. There are so many things you have the opportunity to work on through this position.

What has been your favorite project/initiative to work on so far?

I am excited to announce that PRSSA will have an official LinkedIn group. It will be an exciting opportunity for members and Chapters to connect. This is still in the works, but it has been my favorite project I have accomplished so far.

What has been the most challenging aspect of your role so far?

This year has been challenging due to the pandemic as well as other personal matters. I’ve had a blast in my role, and the only challenging part is reaching our student members. I would love to connect with more students! Please reach out to me with any career-related questions you may have.

What advice would you share with your future successor?

Serving on the National Committee is one of the most exciting things that has ever happened to me. If you are thinking about running for a position, please go for it. You will have the time of your life.
