Session:  Success in Digital Media: Improve your Presence on Internet as a PRSSA Chapter

Presenter: Universidad de San Martin de Porres

In this session, attendees learned that developing a strong presence on social media does not happen overnight. It takes a team of people to help create and manage online content. For example, Universidad de San Martin de Porres delegates this process into six different roles: coordinator, researcher, editor, graphic designer, manager and analyst.

Audience members also learned that it is important to make sure that your content is easy for users to understand and share. Use keywords that can easily be turned into hashtags, identify trends and publish multimedia content. Interact with your audience using memes, gifs and videos to generate more engagement from your publics. When measuring your online success, use quantitative data such as reactions, shares, retweets, etc. to determine the effectiveness of your content.

Takeaways:

  • Use your own contnet.
  • Be creative with all your online platforms because it’s more appealing to your followers.
  • Be consistent with your content. This allows for a more organized and aesthetically pleasing news feed.
  • Segment your audience. Think about what your audience is interested in when generating content.
