Presenter: Emma Finkbeiner, PRSSA 2016–2017 National President; Joe Truncale, CEO, PRSA

Recap: PRSSA is striving to grow, which is why our goals are the key to success in every Chapter. PRSSA’s new goals include reputation, thoughtful leadership and service. While you might think these goals are just phrases, they lead to significant numbers, successful partnerships and effective national outreach. Vice President of Chapter Development Victoria Leigh Ward and Vice President of Advocacy Andrew Cook recently traveled Peru to meet with the Universidad de San Martin de Porres (USMP) Chapter to discuss its impressive growth rate and the difficulties they face as an international chapter.

This year, PRSSA facilitated a partnership with CreateAthon and Nationally Affiliated Student-run Firms to dedicate 24 straight hours of pro-bono work. The firms that participated in this 24-hour project succeeded in donating more than $30,000 of pro-bono work while creating countless memories and resume additions.

Since January 2016, we have chartered 13 new Chapters, bringing our total to 349 Chapters and 10,709 members overall. We now boast a national staff size of 10 National Committee members, three full-time staff members and four volunteer advisers.

PRSSA has had a monumental year from launching a new website to sending Committee members abroad and restructuring the Committee responsibilities. For more information, visit the new website at prssa.org.
