3 Things that Make Leadership Rally Worth Your Time

You’ve turned in your final assignment. You’ve broken a sweat packing up your dorm or apartment and moving out. You’ve said goodbye to your college friends for the summer, as everyone heads their own way for the next few months.

What’s next for a savvy public relations student leader like yourself?

PRSSA Leadership Rally, of course!

For the past two years, I’ve been fortunate enough to attend this National event in Scottsdale, Arizona, and let me tell you — it is, in fact, the best. Or at least in my opinion, it is. Let me tell you three reasons why you’ll want to be there this year:

1. PRSSA National covers the hotel costs.

College kids love the word free, right? This is one opportunity that won’t break the bank, since PRSSA National covers the hotel stay for all attendees, and there is no event registration fee. As long as you (or your Chapter) can pay for your flight to get to Phoenix, you’re all set.

2. You’ll make lifelong connections that will help carry you through this next school year.

Because this event is only open to Chapter presidents and firm directors of Nationally Affiliated student-run firms, you’re going to meet people who just “get” you. Some of these new friends may become your lifelines for this next school year as you go through the roller coaster experience of being in the top leadership spots.

3. It’s the perfect balance of work and play.

I like to describe Leadership Rally as the National event that is half work and half vacation. The speakers, workshops and sessions will provide just the spark of passion you need to get a jump start on your PRSSA summer planning; on the other hand, the beautiful Chaparral Suites hotel will provide you with made-to-order breakfast, a daily reception that includes free drinks and snacks and the promise of being able to relax poolside during any downtime.

Now that you’ve wrapped up the school year, I hope to see you at my favorite summer kickoff — the PRSSA Leadership Rally. Make sure to register online by Friday, April 29.
