Boston University’s PRSSA Chapter is proud to host their 15th annual District Conference PR Advanced: Navigating an Unchartered Future on Saturday, February 12, 2022.

How did you arrive at your conference theme and what can members expect to see at this conference?

The past two years have been difficult for many people, as we all know. There have been a lot of unknowns and uncertainties regarding our futures. We spent a lot of time discussing ways to use the conference to help others get through what seemed like a fog of uncertainty. Keeping all of this in mind, our amazing Conference Coordinator thought of a nautical theme to highlight the concept of helping undergraduates and young professionals navigate the ever-changing industry of PR. In other words, helping steer our attendees through this fog and toward their goals.

We invited incredible speakers from Boston and beyond to our conference to provide attendees with the knowledge and “tools” to become powerful and intelligent PR professionals. Attendees can expect to see and network with these professionals, as well as gain information, feedback, and advice to help them find success amidst uncertainty.

Is your conference virtual or in-person? If it’s virtual, what are some of the platforms being used?

Our conference will be held virtually on February 12 from 9 a.m. ET to 3 p.m. ET. Platforms used for our conference will include Zoom and Airmeet. Both platforms were successfully used for our virtual conference last year.

Tell me about the speaker/session that excites you the most. Why should members tune in for this?

I’m most excited about our keynote speaker Kate Cronin. She is the chief brand officer for Moderna and her session is titled “Getting Comfortable with Being Uncomfortable: The Dilemma of Corporation in an Era of Extreme Uncertainty.” Attendees should definitely tune in for this!

Do you have any planned networking events? How will your conference allow members to connect?

Networking opportunities have been set up through Airmeet, so that attendees can join “tables” and video chat with multiple people at a time. Attendees can expect to make connections with other members from all over. In addition to scheduled networking time, we will have a wellness/goal-setting workshop where attendees can interact. Both are exciting and easy ways to have a group conversation.

How can members make the most of their conference experience?

We have a fantastic lineup of knowledgeable speakers for this conference. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions during panel discussions and speaker presentations. We believe asking questions is the best way to succeed and make the most of their conference experience.
