What You Could Be Doing This Summer to Improve

We’ve all been there — it’s summer, classes are out and you want to continue building your resume. If you don’t have an internship, what else can you do? The options for online learning opportunities are endless, but which ones are worth your time? I’m here to help.

It’s important to recognize that personal growth means professional growth. If you are growing, your future is benefitting from that growth. 

Also remember that you do not have to take on the whole list, but if you see something that looks interesting, why not benefit and add it to your resume? Below are a few recommendations. If you have suggestions to add, please reach out and let us know what books and programs you love.

Kayla Holley, 2021–2022 vice president of professional development, is currently a senior studying public relations and business administration at the State University of New York at Oswego. She joined SUNY Oswego’s Chapter of PRSSA her freshman year, was elected Chapter president her junior year and is excited to bring her knowledge of professional development to the Society. In addition to serving on the PRSSA National Committee, Kayla is a content coordinator for MarComm agency, Tipping Point Communications and president of SUNY Oswego’s Chapter of Lambda Pi Eta – National Communications Honor Society.
