For a PRSSA Chapter in Latin America, like the Universidad de San Martín de Porres (USMP), connecting with other Chapters not only in South America but also in the United States is vital for the growth and development of its members. These exchanges foster a rich wealth of ideas, the creation of strategic alliances, and the opening of international opportunities that can transform the future of students and professionals in the field of public relations.
The recent visit of Isabella Albertini, president of PRSSA at Louisiana State University (LSU), to USMP PRSSA is a clear example of the importance of these connections. This meeting, held on Saturday, August 3, not only marked a milestone in the history of USMP PRSSA but also emphasized the importance of maintaining and strengthening ties with Chapters in other regions.
Weeks before her visit, Harry Alarcón, president of the Peruvian Chapter, and Isabella were in constant communication, coordinating every detail of her arrival and discussing essential topics about the operation and goals of both Chapters. This prior dialogue allowed for mutual understanding and laid the foundation for future collaborations.
The day of Isabella’s visit coincided with the return to activities for USMP PRSSA, making it a highly symbolic moment for all members. On that occasion, USMP PRSSA held its monthly awards ceremony, the “PRSSA Awards,” where the most outstanding members of the month were recognized. In addition, Isabella’s presence at this event was particularly special, as she brought an international perspective that enriched the ceremony. Moreover, her participation inspired the new members of the Chapter, who were able to learn firsthand about the benefits of being part of PRSSA.
One of the highlights of Isabella’s visit was the Certificate of Recognition for Friendship between both Chapters, a gesture that symbolizes the mutual commitment to strengthen ties and work together in the future. Such recognitions not only reaffirm the camaraderie between Chapters but also open the door to future opportunities.
Having a representative from another Chapter in the country was not only an honor for USMP PRSSA but also allowed members to expand their vision and understand the real scope of belonging to an influential organization like PRSSA. These meetings allow members to learn from the experiences of other Chapters, adopt best practices and be motivated to achieve higher standards in their work.
In summary, Isabella Albertini’s visit to PRSSA USMP was a significant event that reaffirmed the importance of connecting with other Chapters, both in Latin America and in the United States. This collaboration not only enriches the members of USMP PRSSA but also strengthens the organization globally, creating a network of support and learning that benefits everyone. We deeply appreciate Isabella’s visit and the positive impact she has left on our Chapter, and we eagerly look forward to future collaborations that continue to enhance and strengthen the bonds between PRSSA Chapters worldwide.
