District Conference Preview | Game On: PR in Sports, Mid-Atlantic District Hosted by Temple PRSSA
Ready to “Get’cha Head in the Game” this spring? There is no better place to do it than one of the best sports cities: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Temple University PRSSA is thrilled to host the PRSSA’s 2025 Mid-Atlantic District Conference. “Game On: PR in Sports,” being held on Temple University’s main campus on March 28 and 29, will help you take the field of sports communications and PR to a whole new level.
On Friday evening, we will be hosting a welcome reception with light refreshments and snacks. In addition, we will be hearing from Alicia Caracciolo, Vice President of Events and Fundraising and incoming National President. The night will conclude with a game night for attendees.
On Saturday, the conference will start with our Women and Sports Communications Panel. Then, attendees will then have the opportunity to attend two breakout sessions before lunch.
After lunch, our keynote speaker, Kate Kizitaff, who is the manager of team publicity for the Philadelphia Flyers will share her thoughts on the essentials of successfully navigating the sports media landscape. In addition, she will speak on how to reach media with off-ice sports storylines.
The day will continue with two more slots of breakout sessions, including a collaborative community service session. The conference will end with a career workshop with the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) of Philadelphia.
The breakout sessions will cover an exciting variety of topics including college athletics communications, name image and likeness, sponsorships in sports, media relations, overcoming imposter syndrome and more.

- Lauren Bullock, professor and director of sports media major, Temple University
- Claire Smith, founding executive director, Klein College’s Claire Smith Center for Sports Media
- Lauren Templin, associate director of athletic communication, University of Pennsylvania
- Mia Nardone, development strategist of special events and operations,
- Jeanie Davey, senior communications strategist, NRG Energy, Inc.
- Andy Carl, executive director, TUFF Fund
- Anthony Nelson, senior national accounts director, Philadelphia Convention & Visitor Bureau
Friday’s welcome event will be held in The Underground of Temple University’s Howard Gittis Student Center and Saturday sessions will take place on the second level of the Howard Gittis Student Center, Temple University’s Main Campus.
