For the 18th consecutive year, Boston University’s PRSSA Chapter is thrilled to host the Northeast District Conference. 2025 PR Advanced: Find Passion in the PRofession, will be hosted on February 22, 2025, at Boston University’s Photonics Center!
In a fast-paced and ever-changing world of communications, students often face challenges finding their place as they enter the workforce. Through this year’s PR Advanced, we aim to raise awareness about the breadth of careers that can stem from a PR degree, and equip students with tools to navigate those opportunities as they inevitably come.
This year’s Conference features panels, hands-on workshops and valuable networking opportunities designed to help communications students discover how their passions can point the way for their professional development. Throughout the day, attendees can think creatively about integrating their unique skills into the dynamic field of public relations while networking with the local PRSSA community.
The Conference will begin with a keynote address from Jordun Lawrence, Manager of Social Impact at PayPal. With expertise in corporate social responsibility, Lawrence will share insights on how strategic communication drives social impact.
Panels will cover essential topics, including media relations and diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEI&B). Panelists will help students identify areas that align with their personal interests and passions, whether that be corporate life, agency work, research or social impact organizations; while specialized talks focusing on healthcare, entertainment and public affairs will offer valuable insights into the skills each sector demands.
Beyond panels and talks, PR Advanced includes career-building sessions! These sessions seek to help students develop an understanding of how to succeed as they enter the industry. A midday mock pitch activity will allow students to hone their skills and receive real-time, actionable feedback, and the end-of-day career fair will give them a place to apply the networking tips they’ve learned throughout the day with PR firms, non-profit organizations and graduate programs.
Of course, it’s not all work and no play—a conference ticket includes access to everything we’ve mentioned, along with an exciting raffle, breakfast, lunch and a quick afternoon treat from Ben & Jerry’s Boston.
Tickets for the 2025 PR Advanced: Find Passion in the PRofession are now available. Get your ticket here. Don’t miss this opportunity to discover your Passion in the PRofession and turn your aspirations into a thriving career!
