I’ll never forget walking into my first Chapter meeting. I was so nervous about networking and finding my professional footing. Before long, I experienced that feeling again —in the best possible way— the first time I attended the PRSSA Leadership Assembly. Suddenly, the dedicated students I knew locally were part of a vast, interconnected network of public relations enthusiasts from across the country and the world.
It’s easy to think of your local Chapter as the entire world of PRSSA, but just like your Executive Board guides your local events, the PRSSA International Committee—the team I serve on—guides the entire Society. Understanding how we operate and connect with you is the key to unlocking the full power of your membership.
As Chapter leaders, it’s vital to see past your campus borders. The support and resources designed by the International Committee are what elevate your local efforts, turning a great club into a powerful professional society.
The International Committee is the highest governing body of PRSSA, composed of the International President, various Vice Presidents (including myself!), and our Professional and Faculty Advisers. We manage the business and affairs of PRSSA on a global scale.
In short, we focus on the strategic big picture:
The International Committee doesn’t just govern from an office; we have specific structures designed entirely to help your Chapter thrive.
The International Committee creates opportunities for your members to expand their network and build professional skills far beyond your campus.
Your Chapter is at the heart of PRSSA, providing that essential, welcoming local community, but the International Committee is the vital bridge, connecting your local effort to a worldwide network of opportunities and professional resources. Building a strong relationship with us is the best way to ensure your Chapter is not just surviving, but thriving.
If you’re ready to connect or need development assistance, the International Committee is here for you:
