Austin is a huge city full of weird people, delicious food and great music. There are so many things to do in Austin but never enough time so I have compiled a list of some Austin MUSTS. Here are the seven best things to do while you are in Austin.<\/p>\n

1)<\/strong> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Check out the live music scene<\/strong><\/p>\n

Austin is known as the Live Music Capital of the World so one of the first things you should do in Austin is seek out some live music. Finding live music isn\u2019t a difficult task either, just walk five minutes in any given direction and you\u2019ll be there.<\/p>\n

2)<\/strong> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Tour the Capitol Building<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Texas State Capitol Building is one of the most beautiful buildings in Texas and it is free to the public. The Capitol building is also one of only a handful of capitol buildings taller than the one in Washington D.C. After all, everything is bigger in Texas.<\/p>\n

3)<\/strong> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Take a selfie with some street art<\/strong><\/p>\n

Whether it\u2019s the \u201cI Love You So Much\u201d wall or the \u201cWillie for President\u201d mural, you will definitely come across some amazing street art in Austin. Take some pictures to show your friends back home. Pro tip: the street area around the city makes for a great Instagram aesthetic.<\/p>\n

4)<\/strong> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Learn something new at the Bullock Texas State History Museum<\/strong><\/p>\n

Learn about Texas\u2019s long and interesting history at the Bullock Texas State History Museum. Located only a few blocks away from the Capitol Building, this museum contains \u201cthe Story of Texas.\u201d<\/p>\n

5)<\/strong> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Climb Mount Bonnell<\/strong><\/p>\n

At 775 feet, Mount Bonnell is the highest point in Austin, Texas. The short hike to the top is great for beginners and the magnificent views of the rolling hill country below are worth every step.<\/p>\n

6)<\/strong> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Try some street eats at the local food trucks<\/strong><\/p>\n

Some of the best cuisine in Austin can be found at any of the dozens of food trucks parked around the city. With food trucks, you can find any type of food imaginable whether you\u2019re in the mood for Thai or some good old-fashioned barbecue, you won\u2019t be going hungry in this city.<\/p>\n

7)<\/strong> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Rent a kayak from The Rowing Dock<\/strong><\/p>\n

Want to escape to the great outdoors? Rent a kayak, canoe or stand up paddleboard and go rowing along the Colorado River. Because the Austin City Limits Festival (ACL) will be happening at the same time, you might be able to hear some music from the river.<\/p>\n
