Did they listen to you? Did they encourage you? Or were they critical, defensive and quick to place blame on others? The difference between these two people \u2014 one is a leader and one is a boss.<\/p>\n<p>The difference can make or break a team, project or plan. Take a look at the qualities of a boss and a leader below.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A boss is someone who:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Is a know it all<\/li>\n<li>Talks more than they listen<\/li>\n<li>Gives answers<\/li>\n<li>Criticizes<\/li>\n<li>Points out weaknesses<\/li>\n<li>Directs<\/li>\n<li>Defends their ego<\/li>\n<li>Focuses on themselves<\/li>\n<li>Places blame on others<\/li>\n<li>Demands results<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This personality can cause tension and bring negative energy in the workplace. This person can also cause good employees to become uninterested in their job. Simply, don\u2019t be this person.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A leader is someone who:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Is always willing to learn<\/li>\n<li>Listens more than they talk<\/li>\n<li>Seeks solutions<\/li>\n<li>Encourages<\/li>\n<li>Recognizes natural gifts and strengths<\/li>\n<li>Coaches<\/li>\n<li>Reveals vulnerability<\/li>\n<li>Focuses on the team and its needs<\/li>\n<li>Takes responsibility<\/li>\n<li>Inspires performance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A leader can bring good energy, positivity and encouragement to a workplace, which can enlighten and inspire others.
