The August 16 conversation is set to begin at 9 p.m. EST. This year\u2019s Twitter chat focuses on the benefits of diversity in the workplace and why it matters.<\/p>\n<p>Lukitsch has written several pieces about diversity in the communications field for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bulldogreporter.com\/the-moment-is-now-for-women-in-pr-and-business\/\">Bulldog Reporter<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.adweek.com\/digital\/addressing-the-agency-gender-pay-gap\/\">Adweek<\/a>. In these pieces, Lukitsch describes how the approach taken by experienced professionals impacts young pros and the way that they see the industry. It is through mentorship and advocacy that the industry progresses into a better tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>At the start of our careers, every young professional takes little lessons from each professional they encounter. When experienced professionals realize the impact that they have on students and young pros it allows for a more open dialogue to occur and shape the future of the profession and professional.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re really looking forward to having Courtney Lukitsch share her perspective with students about diversity and I can\u2019t wait to see the insight she brings to the Twitter Chat.\u00a0 As a mentor to students, she brings great experience and is at the top of her game,\u201d said Andrew Cook, PRSSA National President. \u201cAs a professional, Courtney actively takes time to give back through mentoring and this is a great opportunity for our students to enhance their education as we celebrate Diversity Month.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When asked what her career advice to young professionals Lukitsch said, \u201cTenacity, research, show up early, be smarter and more prepared than the client \u2014 will always be PR 101 #1 rules to follow.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2014<\/p>\n<p><em>Andrew Young is the 2017-2018 vice president of external affairs and a junior public relations major at the Middle Tennessee State University.
