School, internships, friends, family and life are not always easy and often must to choose between the difficult path or the easy one. Most would choose what is easy because it requires less time and effort \u2014 but where is the reward in that? <\/span><\/p>\n

Oftentimes people will tell you to choose the easy way because, well, it\u2019s easy. They will convince you that doing what is quickest and most convenient is always the best way to go. However, I think differently because I\u2019m a runner. I have been a runner for many years, and I will always be a runner. Doing cross country in high school, running half marathons in college and choosing to run the eight miles instead of three repeatedly demonstrated to me the beauty in working hard to achieve a goal. <\/span><\/p>\n

Running taught me a lesson that has helped me in my other areas \u2014 especially in the area of public relations. It has taught me persistence, determination and discipline. You choose to keep going even though it\u2019s hard and strenuous and at times, painful. But in the end, it is the absolute best feeling ever. <\/span><\/p>\n

These principles don\u2019t just apply sports. I now apply those same values, principles and guidelines that I learned from running to my present and future career. Whether it\u2019s interviewing for a job and not getting a call back the second time around, staying up late to get in a myriad of resume applications or not getting offered your dream job, these principles still apply. You may not see the fruitfulness of your labor immediately but you will eventually. All your hard work and persistence will pay off. <\/span><\/p>\n

So get out there and work at it! Just keep running.<\/p>\n
