After 24 hours, the story disappears. Recently, Instagram added a new feature where users can also post stories, which will disappear after 24 hours as well, and populate the top of users\u2019 newsfeeds. Sounds a little too similar, right? You\u2019re not the only one thinking that.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom admits that Snapchat deserves \u201call the credit\u201d for Instagram\u2019s latest feature. In an interview with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">TechCrunch<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> he explained, \u201cThis isn\u2019t about who invented something. This is about a format and how you take it to a network and put your own spin on it.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p>One goal of the new feature is to attract adults who are curious about Snapchat, play with similar features and interact with an audience they already built.<\/p>\n<p>One concern with the new feature, and the new fad of live broadcasting day-to-day events is that people will become less and less present during these special moments. Systrom says he doesn\u2019t think this feature takes you out of the moment, though. In fact, he argues that has the opposite effect.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDo you meditate at all?,\u201d he said. \u201cOne of the parts of meditation is actually being aware of your surroundings \u2026 Sometimes taking a photo, looking down at it, editing it, adding a caption, whatever, actually makes you appreciate the moment that you\u2019re in. It makes you stop and say, \u2018That sunset is beautiful.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Instagram may be one of the most underutilized tools in a marketing strategy, but these tips can help your business use the new feature to your advantage.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Post consistently \u2014 fans are more likely to check in with a brand when they know that their content is updated often.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Don\u2019t post direct ads \u2014 Instagram is all about creativity. Fans are less likely to interact with a direct ad on that platform.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Make it fun!
