During the summer, we posted<\/a> about how to increase the value of your PRSSA membership to get the most for your money. This time around, we found that since it\u2019s a different time of the year, you have different opportunities to participate in and further add value to your membership. Here\u2019s a checklist of things you can do before completing the year:<\/p>\n

  1. Attend a Regional Activity<\/a> with members of your Chapter. These regional events provide members with professional development and networking opportunities.<\/li>\n
  2. Find an internship with the help of JobCenter<\/a>, PRSSA\u2019s database of internships. Recent postings include opportunities<\/a> all<\/a> over<\/a> the<\/a> country<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  3. Pursue a PRSSA leadership opportunity and build your resume with the opportunities that will arise.<\/li>\n
  4. Attend the PRSSA Leadership Rally this June.<\/li>\n
  5. Apply for upcoming scholarships and awards<\/a>. PRSSA awards approximately $20,000 each year to members. Take the time to apply and if you earn an award, you\u2019ll reap monetary rewards and the prestige of national recognition.<\/li>\n
  6. In case you skipped the previous bullet, apply for scholarships and awards<\/em>. Who can\u2019t use some extra cash and a point of honor these days?<\/li>\n
  7. Submit Chapter News<\/a> to the PRSSA Web site and earn national recognition while adding a writing sample to your portfolio.<\/li>\n
  8. Participate in a PRSA teleseminar<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  9. Attend a Regional Activity<\/a> in another state. Even if you already attended an event nearby, try and broaden your horizons, meet new people and try out a new area.<\/li>\n
  10. Check out FORUM\u2019s new Web site<\/a><\/em> and enjoy the free content.<\/li>\n
  11. Reach out to a PRSSA Champion<\/a> and expand your network.<\/li>\n
  12. Participate in the FUNdraising Bowl<\/a> and potentially earn two free registrations to the PRSSA 2010 National Conference in Washington D.C.<\/li>\n
  13. If you\u2019re graduating, don\u2019t forget to join PRSA as an associate member<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  14. Mentor a young PRSSA member. You might be surprised at how much you learn.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
