{"id":3452,"date":"2013-02-20T12:15:49","date_gmt":"2013-02-20T17:15:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/progressions.prsa.org\/?p=3452"},"modified":"2018-08-11T12:46:39","modified_gmt":"2018-08-11T16:46:39","slug":"planning-for-national-assembly-in-albuquerque","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/progressions.prsa.org\/index.php\/2013\/02\/20\/planning-for-national-assembly-in-albuquerque\/","title":{"rendered":"Planning for National Assembly in Albuquerque"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"www.prssa.org\/events\/assembly\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3454 alignright\" title=\"PRSSA 2013 Assembly\" src=\"http:\/\/progressions.prsa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/250-x-160.jpg\" alt=\"PRSSA 2013 Assembly\" width=\"250\" height=\"160\" srcset=\"https:\/\/progressions.prsa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/250-x-160.jpg 250w, https:\/\/progressions.prsa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/250-x-160-100x64.jpg 100w, https:\/\/progressions.prsa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/250-x-160-200x128.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/a>From April 4-7, representatives from PRSSA Chapters around the country will arrive in Albuquerque for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.prssa.org\/events\/Assembly\/\">PRSSA 2013 National Assembly<\/a> \u2013 marking the first time in more than 10 years that PRSSA has held a national event in New Mexico.<\/p>\n<p>At Assembly, new and upcoming leaders from Chapters big and small gather to participate in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.prssa.org\/events\/Assembly\/Program\/\">programming<\/a> to support Chapter officers, leadership development and networking.<\/p>\n<p>For this year&#8217;s Assembly, the 2012-2013 National Committee will lead three leadership training sessions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Act Ethically and Carry On<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Spreading the Word<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>How to Plan a Sensational Semester<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cAct Ethically and Carry On,\u201d inspired by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.prssa.org\/about\/EthicsWallpaper\">PRSA and PRSSA 2012 Ethics Month theme<\/a>, will review common ethical situations public relations\u00a0practitioners\u00a0may face in the field and discuss the challenges of acting ethically. The session will also focus on how to present ethical case situations to Chapters to use for open discussion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSpreading the Word\u201d will help Chapter leaders become more familiar with the many resources and benefits PRSSA provides as a national organization. By focusing on efforts to communicate member benefits and resources to Chapters, this session will prepare leaders to be most effective in this endeavor.<\/p>\n<p>In \u201cHow to Plan a Sensational Semester,\u201d leaders and members will learn how to create long-term strategic plans for their Chapters. The session will also discuss methods for generating new ideas and collaborating with other organizations across campus to help maximize the quality and effectiveness of Chapters.<\/p>\n<p>The PRSSA National Advisers and PRSA\u00a0Board Liaisons\u00a0will assist the National Committee in leading this vital part of National Assembly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNational Assembly is an opportunity for the commitment, passion and creativity of PRSSA students to shine,\u201d said Don Egle, APR, ABC, 2012-2014 National Professional Adviser. \u201cThe involvement of each PRSSA Chapter is important and fundamentally necessary to the smooth transition of National PRSSA leadership and Society governance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As the governing body for PRSSA, the National Assembly is one of the most important events of the year,\u201d said Bob &#8220;Pritch&#8221; Prtichard, APR, Fellow PRSA, 2011-2013 National Faculty Adviser. \u201cWith the changes instituted by the National Committee, this year&#8217;s National Assembly is expected to function in a more focused and efficient manner than ever before.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Is your Chapter sending a delegate to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.prssa.org\/events\/Assembly\/\">National Assembly<\/a>? Remember: PRSSA will cover the registration and hotel costs for one delegate from each Chapter.
