Photo by Robert Branch.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">One of our <a href=\"..\/index.php\/2012\/02\/15\/engage-in-prssa-6-ways-to-participate-in-national-initiatives\/\">National Initiatives<\/a> for Chapters is to participate in the preparation of Chapter Development Sessions that are presented each year at National Conference. PRSSA is now <a href=\"http:\/\/www.prssa.org\/news\/national\/news\/display\/1169\">accepting Chapter applications to host \u00a0the 2012 Chapter Development sessions<\/a> in October at the National Conference in San Francisco \u2013 there may be no better reason to attend the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.prssa.org\/events\/Conference\/index.html\">PRSSA 2012 National Conference<\/a> than the fact that you will be a presenter!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Through the process of creating a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.prssa.org\/news\/national\/news\/display\/1169\">Chapter Development Session presentation<\/a>, your Chapter will have the opportunity to continue to stay productive over the summer break. As a whole, your Chapter can build credibility on a topic you excel at such as recruitment, member retention, professional development, networking or even hosting events. It\u2019s up to you to decide your area of expertise .<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Some benefits of hosting a Chapter Development session include:<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Keep Members Active and Engaged During the Summer<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;\">Don\u2019t lose the momentum you have worked so hard to build throughout the year. Creating a Chapter Development Session over the summer is not only a bonding experience, it\u2019s also a great way to help new members jumpstart their involvement on the Chapter and National level.<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Gain Chapter<\/strong> <strong>Recognition<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;\">Universities love to talk about how awesome their student organizations are, and you can prove PRSSA is among the best by presenting at National Conference. Not only will you be a hometown hero, you\u2019ll also get to share with other Chapters what you have learned and grown from.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Build Personal Experiences<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;\">Professionals love students who have strong presentation skills. For many companies, securing new projects or clients is essential to the business \u2014 and with every new idea comes a pitch to be presented.
