Sure, some of you might be taking classes this summer, but for the most part, we are in summer mode. Between internships, summer classes, vacations and projects, it&#8217;s easy to forget about <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.prssa.org\">PRSSA <\/a><span>and another school year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>However there are plenty of things you can be doing right now to make the most of your PRSSA membership. Here&#8217;s a list to get you started, but I&#8217;d like to hear what all of you are doing across the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>Connect with <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.prsa.org\">PRSA <\/a><span>by attending      their meetings and professional<br \/>\ndevelopment sessions. If need help getting in touch your sponsoring Chapter,      let me know and I&#8217;ll help you.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>Apply for scholarships. Although      most of scholarships and awards were due in June, three awards also      deadline in September and October. Check out the full list <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.prssa.org\/resources\/MemberAwards.asp\">here<\/a><span> and start      applying early.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>Contribute to the fall issue of      <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.prssa.org\/forum\/\">FORUM<\/a><\/em>. Contact <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.prssa.org\/committee\/default.aspx?Id=10\">Patrick      Hernandez<\/a><span>, your <em>FORUM<\/em> editor in chief,      for more information.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>Contact the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.prssa.org\/committee\/\">National Committee<\/a><span> members about joining subcommittees.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>Hold fund raisers for National      Conference. The earlier you start, the more money you can use to head to      sunny San Diego in November.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>Set up office tours and      informational interviews with local PRSA members. Remember to build your      network before you need it.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>Check out <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.prssa.org\/jobcentermembersite\/\">JobCenter<\/a> <span>for summer      and fall postings. If you need help accessing this site, contact Vice President of Internships\/Job Services <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.prssa.org\/committee\/default.aspx?Id=7\">Mike Wilson<\/a><span>. <\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>Organize a team for the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.prssa.org\/news\/news.aspx?Id=750\">CW      competition<\/a><span>.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>Work with your Chapter to      create a strategic plan for the year.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>Continue to hold meetings and      seminars for members still in the area.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>Check out the case studies in      the <a href=\"http:\/\/auth.iweb.prsa.org\/xmembernet\/main\/prcsearch.cfm\">PRC<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/auth.iweb.prsa.org\/xmembernet\/main\/prcsearch.cfm\"> database<\/a> when you&#8217;re      working on similar projects for your job or internship.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>Continue student-run firm work.      Need help working with clients or building your firm? I&#8217;d love to help.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>Hold a retreat for Chapter      leaders to plan for the upcoming year.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>Attend the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.prssa.org\/news\/rally.aspx\">Leadership Rally<\/a><span> and      learn from fellow PRSSA leaders across the country.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>Work with your Chapter to plan a      bid for a <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.prssa.org\/events\/regional.aspx\">Regional Activity<\/a><span>. By engaging other members on this blog, Twitter and other      blogs, you&#8217;ll be able to share information and learn from each other.      PRSSA is something you all have in common and I encourage you to take      advantage of this opportunity.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>So, what other ideas do you have?
