As our term on the 2024\u20132025 National Committee comes to an end, we\u2019re proud to look back on a year filled with growth, connection and new opportunities. Guided by the 3Ls (Link, Listen and Lift), we\u2019ve worked hard to elevate the PRSSA experience for every single one of our members.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Together, we launched new initiatives, strengthened existing programs and reimagined the ways we connect with one another. Here\u2019s how we brought the 3Ls to life.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Building Stronger Connections<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The core of our term was the idea of linking \u2013 creating opportunities for all of us to come together, share knowledge and support one another. We launched several initiatives designed to foster deeper connections within the Society. One of the highlights was the creation of the Chapter Presidents Slack<\/strong>, a platform for Chapter leaders to collaborate, share ideas and solve problems together. For our Student-run Firms, we introduced the Student-run Firms Slack<\/strong> and Student-run Firms Hub<\/strong><\/a>, ensuring these groups had dedicated spaces to connect, access resources and build community.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also made sure membership was accessible for all students, regardless of location. The expansion of the Affiliate Program<\/strong><\/a> allowed students without a local Chapter to join PRSSA online. And, one of the most exciting projects we launched was the PRSSA\/PRSA Campaign<\/strong>. This collaboration is creating a clearer path for students to transition into professional membership and is strengthening the connection between PRSSA and PRSA.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also revamped our General Meetings<\/strong> to make them more interactive and engaging. These meetings have become a great space for everyone to get valuable content and be a part of the conversation.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

Listening to Our Members<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Active listening has been at the heart of everything we\u2019ve done. To provide more opportunities for direct engagement, we hosted <\/strong>Virtual Coffee Chats with the National President<\/strong><\/a>, where members could share their thoughts, ask questions and discuss challenges they were facing. These chats allowed us to listen closely and respond with the right support and resources.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to these conversations, we established the first-ever Chapter Development Committee<\/strong>, a team dedicated to supporting Chapters, fostering connections, and providing resources to help PRSSA grow stronger than ever. Listening also led us to expand our Spanish-language content<\/strong> to make sure we\u2019re reaching more students and making the organization more inclusive. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chapter Development & Leadership Sessions<\/strong> also provided valuable training and support to Chapter leaders, ensuring they had the tools and knowledge they needed to succeed in their roles.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

Lifting Each Other Up<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The principle of lifting was present in everything we did \u2013 from creating new resources to recognizing the achievements of our members. We made sure to provide the tools, support and recognition necessary to empower our members to succeed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We launched a new Jobcenter<\/strong><\/a>, where students can find career tools, internships, and job openings, all in one location. To further support career development, we updated the Career Resource Manual<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>and created new resources like the High School Outreach Guide<\/strong><\/a>, Sponsorship Pitch Deck Template<\/strong><\/a> and Member Benefits Presentation<\/strong><\/a>. These resources empowered our members and Chapters to grow and succeed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also celebrated the work happening across Chapters with initiatives like the Chapter of the Month<\/strong> and National Committee Highlights<\/strong>, ensuring that each win, whether big or small, was acknowledged and celebrated.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The beauty of the 3Ls is that they are interconnected. When we link, listen, and lift, it\u2019s all part of a cycle that helps the entire community grow and thrive. This synergy allowed us to push the Society forward and provide more opportunities for connection, collaboration and growth.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the biggest milestones this year was a change that reflects the global reach of PRSSA. We presented and passed an amendment to change the name of the National Committee to the International Committee<\/strong>, which aligns with our Chapters in the U.S. (including Puerto Rico), Argentina, Colombia, Mexico and Peru. This change reflects our commitment to supporting members across the globe and embracing the international nature of PRSSA. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And of course, none of this would have been possible without maintaining our key initiatives like ICON, Leadership Assembly, the FINN Partners Program, scholarships, awards and more. These programs are the foundation of our work and will continue to support our members in the years to come. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thank you for contributing to making this year a success. The work we did this year was possible because we are a community that cares about one another, and that\u2019s what makes PRSSA so special. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Milagros Orcoyen recently graduated from Universidad Argentina de la Empresa (UADE) with a degree in Public Relations and Institutional Communication. She currently serves as the PRSSA National President, leading a global network of thousands of students. In addition to her role with PRSSA, she coordinates events and public relations for the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) in Latin America.
