The conference will take place in person on March 2–3, 2023.

Chicago’s “L” trains are like the veins of the city, pumping life and energy into every neighborhood by connecting people and communities like blood cells to the heart. Without them, the city would be a stagnant organism, unable to move forward and thrive. In line with this metaphor, the PR eLevated Midwest District Conference aims to bring together college students — the future lifeblood of the PR profession — and communications professionals. The exchange of knowledge will give students a glimpse into the reality of PR and help to keep the industry moving forward and thriving, similar to how the “L” trains keep the city alive and thriving.

I am excited to visit Edelman, Zeno Group, and Shedd Aquarium to gain valuable insights from industry leaders during panel discussions and networking events. Through both planned networking sessions and numerous site visits, PR eLevated will allow students at any stage in their career to make lasting connections and learn about different areas of the industry. I am most looking forward to our closing panel, where we will hear from Michelle Mekky and other PR leaders about their experiences, insights, and advice to break into the PR field and succeed in a competitive market.

It is no doubt that these two Chicago schools house incredible public relations programs. The coursework and programming provide students with a comprehensive education in all aspects of public relations, including research, writing, strategy, and ethics.

Attending the Midwest Conference last year was a turning point in my college experience. The energy and passion of the speakers and attendees were contagious, and I left feeling inspired and motivated to pursue a career in public relations. After the conference, I immediately joined PRSSA and haven’t looked back. The connections I made at the conference led me to a group of like-minded individuals who shared my passion for PR. Being a part of PRSSA has allowed me to take on leadership roles and contribute to the organization in ways that I never thought possible. The 2022 conference truly opened doors for me and set me on a path toward a successful and fulfilling career in the industry. I know that the PR eLevated team is hoping to build on their knowledge of hosting previously to create a one-of-a-kind experience for members this year.

The PR eLevated Midwest District Conference is a unique opportunity for college students to learn about future opportunities and take away valuable career advice as they enter the communications field. Attendees can expect to learn from some of the most successful PR professionals in Chicago, as well as connect with other students and industry leaders. To make the most of the conference, attendees should come prepared with business cards, a resume, and a list of questions for the speakers and panelists. Don’t miss this opportunity to “eLevate” your PR career!

Tickets are available to purchase using this link.

For more updates and information, visit our website and be sure to follow PR eLevated on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
