Being at home every day for a month (or maybe longer) sounds crazy, right?! Let’s avoid quarantine extensions by taking this pandemic seriously and staying home as much as we can. Here are some ways we can all #FlattenTheCurve!

SOCIAL DISTANCE + STAY INSIDE (But still get fresh air)

It is disheartening to stay in and not able to be with our loved ones, but being able to truly practice social distancing for the required time that is recommended, (2 weeks) we can help the quarantine end sooner! Know that you should still enjoy a walk in the park, or your neighborhood, but be mindful of the rules of social distancing and recommendations from local officials.

STAY OCCUPIED

See if your work can accommodate working from home. If you have lost your job due to COVID-19, check if you are able to apply for unemployment and considering taking on a new hobby. If you are working as an “essential employee”, still be mindful of social distance precautions and stay safe! No matter your position, be sure to keep yourself productive so that you can prevent stress or anxiety while you’re indoors. Here are some of the ways you can spend your time at home!

REMEMBER HYGIENE + STAY HEALTHY

Cleanliness plays a major role in mental health. Since we are all at home, we must not forget about personal hygiene. Remember to continue washing your hands often, brushing your teeth and showering. It is also a good idea to eat healthy and stay hydrated while keeping your regular diet. If you feel good, you will do good (mentally).

We are all in this together. #FlattenTheCurve

This post is part of a series for PRSSA’s #FlattentheCurve campaign in collaboration with the University of Colorado Boulder Chapter, featuring posts about social distancing efforts and how members and Chapters are coping with the COVID-19 pandemic.
