For more information or questions about the writing process, email the vice president of brand engagement at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:vpbrandengagement@prsa.org\" data-feathr-click-track=\"true\" data-feathr-link-aids=\"5eb3256be4fe21a12949e03c\">vpbrandengagement@prsa.org<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:progressions@prsa.org\" data-feathr-click-track=\"true\" data-feathr-link-aids=\"5eb3256be4fe21a12949e03c\">progressions@prsa.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Topics<\/h3>\n<p>Acceptable topics for submission include advice for internship and career success; discussions of current events and public relations issues; best Chapter practices for fundraising, recruiting and connecting with professionals; advice for planning meetings and events; or other topics that are relevant to public relations students and young professionals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong>\u00a0PRSSA does not typically accept previously published material. The views and opinions expressed in Progressions are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the official policies or positions of PRSSA National.<\/p>\n<p>Blog copy should be more conversational than writing for a publication. However, basic journalistic principles still apply.<\/p>\n<p>To maintain the high quality of Progressions, all writers are asked to research previously published articles to get a sense of the tone and content regularly published and to adhere to the\u00a0writing guidelines\u00a0before submitting it to the vice president of brand engagement. Pitch your topic idea to the\u00a0vice president of brand engagement by using the email\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:progressions@prsa.org\" data-feathr-click-track=\"true\" data-feathr-link-aids=\"5eb3256be4fe21a12949e03c\">progressions@prsa.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>General Writing Guidelines<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Articles should be between 500\u2013900 words. Remember, quality over quantity.<\/li>\n<li>Be creative. Incorporate bulleted lists, infographics and other visual elements. Nontraditional formats such as photo essays, infographics, video blogs and podcasts are encouraged.<\/li>\n<li>Make posts thought provoking and help spark a conversation.<\/li>\n<li>Follow the PRSA Style Guide and AP Style.\n<ul>\n<li>Use this\u00a0<a title=\"Progressions AP Style Guide\" href=\"https:\/\/www.prsa.org\/docs\/default-source\/prssa-docs\/publications-media\/progressions-ap-style-guide.pdf?sfvrsn=9b4e1004_0\" data-feathr-click-track=\"true\" data-feathr-link-aids=\"5eb3256be4fe21a12949e03c\">Progressions AP Style Guide<\/a>\u00a0as needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Style and Voice<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Be professional and conversational in your tone. Stay clear and consistent. Show, don\u2019t tell, your topic.<\/li>\n<li>Always write in an active voice. (Don\u2019t say: There was a presentation given by Matt. Say: Matt gave a presentation.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Citations and Facts<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure accuracy by double-checking names, confirming spelling and including relevant institutions and dates.<\/li>\n<li>Any references should be hyperlinked.<\/li>\n<li>When citing a survey or statistics, provide the proper name of the survey, who conducted it and the release date.<\/li>\n<li>Include a hyperlink to referenced works when appropriate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Grammar and Organization<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Stay organized and focused. Be creative with subheads, lists and visual elements.<\/li>\n<li>Vary sentence structure, providing a mix of simple, compound and complex sentences to avoid being redundant.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Submissions<\/h3>\n<p>Please submit your topic to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:progressions@prsa.org\" data-feathr-click-track=\"true\" data-feathr-link-aids=\"5eb3256be4fe21a12949e03c\">progressions@prsa.org<\/a>\u00a0before completing your post. This will ease the writing and editing process for all parties involved.<\/p>\n<p>To submit your blog, please fill out the Google Form linked below. To prepare for submission, listed below is some additional information and resources the submission form will ask for.<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li data-list=\"0\" data-level=\"1\">Your PRSA ID Number. This will not be shared with anyone and instructions to find your ID number are included in the form.<\/li>\n<li data-list=\"0\" data-level=\"1\">Your Headshot. (To appear at the bottom of your article and potentially\u00a0be used for promotional graphics.)<\/li>\n<li data-list=\"0\" data-level=\"1\">A 30-40 word biographical summary of yourself.
